Now a bit about myself. I have been playing guitar for just over 40 years and, as well as regular gigging, I have also been involved in the retail side of the biz- you will often find me behind the counter at Strings n Things- guitar and amp repairs. For the past ten years or so I have also built up a regular teaching practice. I have played in many kinds of bands and situations including pop, rock, blues and jazz but my main gig for the past twenty seven years has been as guitarist with British country music band Denver Spur.. Just recently I have got together with my longtime friend and fellow guitarist Andrew Barrett to play jazz and we go out as a duo or trio with added double bass player. Now a few words about the site.

As you navigate this site you will find some free downloadable stuff with, I hope, more to come as the site develops. The printable files are in pdf format using Adobe Acrobat which, if you haven't got already, you can download from this site free. The audio examples are in mp3 format to keep the file sizes small and my web hosters happy! They probably wont be of Hi Fi quality but should be fine as illustrations of the lessons and hey they're free!

Lastly my thanks to Dave at J.D. Internet for his patience and help with all this cyberspace stuff and my wife Catriona who is the real I.T. expert in the family.
